Botox®

  • Have you noticed the lines on your forehead, frown lines, and lines around your eyes? Do you want to get rid of them and look and feel a few years younger?
  • Are you suffering from chronic migraines?
  • Are you in pain because your jaw is always clenched?
  • Have you ever looked in the mirror and wished that you had a more oval face shape?
  • Do you have annoying sweaty underarms or hands, are you dying to minimize that?

Botox® is The Answer

Botox®, approved by the US FDA for several treatments, has been used in hospitals around the UK since 1977 and within the cosmetic industry for over 20 years. It is used in 70 countries and is used on over 4 million patients in the USA alone, every year.

Patients contemplating an anti-wrinkle treatment for the first time can relax in the care of our Starlight Clinic practitioners, who have the experience and aesthetic skills to ensure patients are never over-treated, an approach which can result in the all too common “frozen” face appearance.

The procedure itself should be virtually painless and choosing a highly qualified and experienced practitioner is an important factor in this process.

What Does the Procedure Involve?

The treatment will be quick and comfortable. It will take only 5 – 15 minutes. The area is numbed slightly with an ice pack. Then, using an ultra thin needle, tiny amounts of Botox® will be injected into several points in the required areas.

Most patients find that Botox® injections cause little discomfort. Many compare the feeling to a little insect bite. After injection, it takes 3-4 days for Botox® to begin taking effect and up to two weeks to see the full effect.

How Long Will It Last?

One advantage of Botox® Cosmetic is that it is temporary. On average the Botox® will last 3 to 6 months, so you can decide if the results suit you. Then repeat the treatment as regularly as you wish. In general the Botox® will last longer if the treatment is maintained on a regular basis.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Botox® has been shown to be generally well tolerated. The potential for unintended effects are injection-related such as localized pain, bruising, redness, and swelling. Rare are side-effects related to Botox® which include temporary drooping of the eyelids for a one to two weeks’ duration.
